Newark Athletics Hall of fame class of 2025 induction

Newark, NY – On Saturday, November 23, 2024, the Newark Athletic Hall of Fame proudly celebrated its fifth induction class, honoring nine individuals who have left a lasting impact on Newark High School athletics. This year’s honorees include eight former Newark athletes and one esteemed former coach, all of whom were recognized during the evening’s special ceremony.

The evening began with a dinner at the Newark Elks Lodge, followed by a heartfelt ceremony hosted by Coach Henry Kuperus. The event was filled with laughter and nostalgia as the inductees shared their most treasured memories of representing Newark Athletics.

The 2024 inductees are as follows:

  • Amanda “Bake” Baker

  • Paula Allen

  • Jack Edward Fisher

  • Dwayne Parker Jr.

  • Todd Rohlin

  • Duane “Toot” Lynn

  • Shawn Mizro

  • Nestor Hernandez

  • Floyd Greene

Their contributions to Newark High School athletics have solidified their legacies and inspired future generations.

The Hall of Fame Committee expressed deep gratitude to the many community supporters whose efforts have made this tradition possible. As the committee looks ahead, they remain dedicated to maintaining this annual celebration of excellence, while acknowledging the challenge of selecting worthy inductees each year from the many outstanding contributors to Newark High School athletics programs.
