📵 Finding Balance in a Digital World: NHS Tackles Screen Addiction
Screen addiction is a growing concern in today’s tech-driven world. From anxiety and sleep disruptions to social isolation, excessive device use can take a serious toll. As our online and offline lives become more intertwined, finding a healthy balance is more important than ever.
To shine a light on this issue, Newark High School dedicated the month of March to raising awareness about screen overuse during Monday Pride sessions. Students explored how too much screen time can affect their mental and physical health and discovered helpful strategies for managing their digital habits. 💡📱
As part of the initiative, students took on the challenge of cutting back on cell phone use and becoming more intentional with their screen time. They were also encouraged to participate in the National Day of Unplugging on March 8th — a nationwide movement focused on disconnecting from technology to reconnect with the world around us. 🌍✨
Throughout the month, students reflected on their experiences and logged their progress, with participants earning a chance to win a snack basket raffle! 🍿📓 It was truly inspiring to see so many students take a step back from their screens and share thoughtful insights about what they learned. The encouragement and support from teachers made a huge impact, creating a positive and reflective environment for all involved.
🎉 Big congratulations to Lucas Navarro, winner of the snack basket raffle! Way to go, Lucas! 👏
