Mark Plyter, HSWC Executive Director came to the school to collect items that included various cleaning supplies, dog and cat treats, dog and cat food, dog outfits, paper towels, and lots more.
Plyter graciously accepted the contributions, noting Perkins School’s efforts each year to support the HSWC are so appreciated.
“I love it that the Perkins School students and staff have done this drive for so many years for the Humane Society,” Plyter said. “Proper animal care starts when children are young and donating to this cause is such a valuable lesson for them. I am so looking forward to the opening of our new center so that children can visit us and learn even more about animal care.”
“Each year Perkins students learn about “Being Part of a Community” as one of our Pride Values. As part of our 100 Day Celebration, students learned about “Kindness” and helping those in need. The Humane Society of Wayne County has been a wonderful partner in helping students learn what it means to help others,” Perkins Principal Pete Czerkas said.
The drive to benefit the Humane Society was organized by second grade teacher Jessica Bittner along the 100th Day Celebration Committee.
