Twenty members of Newark High School Vocal Jazz Ensemble sang at two tree lighting ceremonies December 2nd sponsored by the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital Auxiliary.

They sang four songs at each ceremony ending with “Silent Night” during the tree lighting at the 6:30 p.m. ceremony in DeMay Living Center’s Community Room and again during a ceremony an hour later in the main lobby of the hospital.
“This was a great way to start the holiday season with tree lighting ceremonies and song. The students especially enjoyed singing and bringing cheer to the residents attending the ceremony at DeMay,” said Kate Flock, NHS vocal music teacher who directs Vocal Jazz.
