Activities have included:
• Videos about gratitude and the importance of saying “Thank You” to people in our lives were shown to students in the Morning Meeting and PRIDE.
• Students and staff in PRIDE wrote on leaves what they are thankful for.
• The Thankful Tree was assembled and put up in the main lobby and students’ leaves were put on it.
• Students received a gratitude card to write on and give to someone to say “Thank You.”
“Studies show that gratitude make us happier and more productive, so I wanted to share my gratitude to students and ask them to think about what they are grateful for,” said NHS Principal Kelly A. Zielke. “The Tree is our visual representation of all the things that we have to be grateful for. The cards were a nice and easy way for students to say ‘thank you’ to someone who has helped them. It is my hope that students will think about how lucky we are each day and even when things get difficult, there is always something to be thankful for.”
