High School and Middle School students, parents, guardians and community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about careers, as well as college opportunities in the area.
Julia Solan, NCSD Family Outreach & Community Schools Coordinator and Jessica Orchard, Newark Middle School counselor who planned last year’s successful event wanted to expand its reach by opening it up to participation from community members.
“We asked for feedback from our vendors last year and many asked us to invite community members as some of them were hoping to do on-site interviews, hand out applications, and make connections to hire more people. We had a great turnout from our HS students but are hoping to see even greater participation,” Solan said.
“We have 30 confirmed vendors that include colleges, businesses and military recruiters. We will have a resume-building workshop, mock interviews and some on site interviews by various employers and we will raffle off some Newark gear.”
