"I'm most thankful for the friendships and community that came along with taking art classes, with fellow students as well as my teachers. The art room always felt like an inclusive and welcoming space to come as you are and to have a fun time exploring your own sense of self-expression and creativity. The Newark Art program helped me realize my passions and develop skills that I would carry with me throughout my career."

Class of 2018

5th - 8th Grade Art Teacher (North Rose - Wolcott CSD)

"As a current Art teacher in Wayne County, I am so thankful for my early education in Newark. Being able to take Studio in Art a year early in 8th grade, I was able to begin at the high school on the advanced visual arts track. This allowed me to be a two-year Advanced Placement art student. AP Studio Art truly prepared me for college and allowed me to have a strong portfolio, which helped me get accepted in the SUNY New Paltz art education program. I am so grateful for the art courses I took at my time in Newark High School.

They were what allowed me to start my college years with passion and knowledge of various types of art."
